Charles Knight Sr.

TRUMBULL, CONN. — Charles B. Knight Sr., 72, of Trumbull, Conn. passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of the late Eileen Klik Knight,

Born in Raymond on Sept. 6, 1942, he was a son of the late George and Lula Spiller Knight. He was the owner and operator of Charles Knight Excavating and also was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 478, having worked for many area construction companies and as a crane operator before his retirement. Charles was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include two loving children, Charles B. Knight Jr., of Trumbull, Conn. and Robin Knight of New Haven, Conn.; five cherished grandchildren; three sisters, Gertrude Tenney of Gainesville, Fla., Phyllis Richardson of Ansonia, Conn. and Carol Tripp of Palatka, Fla.; a brother, Benjamin Knight of Raymond; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, George Clarence Knight.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, in Trumbull, Conn. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial was held St. Catherine of Siena Church. Interment was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
