Cecilia A. Cox, 87

PORT ORANGE AND STUART FLA. — Cecilia Anne Cox, 87, of Port Orange and Stuart, Fla., passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013.

She was born on Nov. 23, 1925, in New York, daughter of the late James and Anna (McDermott) Fawls. Cecilia moved to Florida in 1997 from Manhasset, N.Y. She will always be remembered as a gracious and intelligent woman.

She was a longtime summer resident of Sandy Cove in Bridgton and for many years served as a volunteer at the Bridgton Hospital Guild Thrift Shop. She enjoyed reading, family gatherings, painting, playing bridge, and doing crafts. Her memberships include the Red Hat Society and Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church of Port Orange.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 64 years, Frank; her children, Ann Marie (Jim) McAvey, Vincent (Ann) Cox, Eileen (Mike) Ricci, Rosemary Cox-Collins, Gloria (Bob) Dickson, Louise (Doug) Booth, and Stephen Cox; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her two brothers.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 4675 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange.
