CAMDEN — Cate (Catherine) Anne (Guertin) Lamb, 54, of Camden, mother, artist, musician and teacher passed away peacefully in hospice on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2015 from aggressive, metastatic breast cancer.

For the last decade, Cate has had the pleasure of serving as the director of Youth and Family Ministries at the Camden Congregational Church.

She was also an avid cyclist, harpist and lamp worker with her own small business — Firebug Glass — crafting jewelry, which she sold locally and at craft fairs.

Born in Portland and raised in Westbrook, Cate attended Portland School of Art for two years and graduated from University of Southern Maine in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in Art. In 1987, she completed her teaching certification at the University of Southern Maine. She achieved a master’s of Fine Arts degree at New York University in 1992.

Cate is survived by a large family including her husband, Brian Lamb of Camden; two daughters, Carman and Meriel; her mother, Mrs. Lawrence (Doris Carman) Guertin of Raymond; brother, Lawrence Guertin of Westbrook.
