Carolyn F. Pike

NAPLES — Carolyn Fitzcharles Pike, 75, passed away Monday afternoon, Oct. 18, 2010 at her home after a long illness.

She was born in 1934, a daughter of James and Freda Pardiny. She graduated from high school in Verona, N.J.

Mrs. Pike married William G. Fitzcharles, Jr. She worked in farming as well as many office jobs before becoming Boro Clerk for Pennington, N.J. Mrs. Pike along with her husband moved to Maine in 1971 and became owner-operator of the Sportsman’s Exchange in Bridgton. After her husband’s passing in 1978, she moved on with a new life with Hebert L. Pike. They moved to Alaska working for Alaska International Air, where she was employed as shipping clerk. She and Herb moved back to their home in Naples, where she worked for L.L.Bean in Lewiston and Tony’s Foodland until she retired.

Her husband Herbert passed away in late September. Carolyn was ready to join Herb at the time of her passing.

Surviving are two sons, William G. Fitzcharles, III of Lincolnville and Robert L. Fitzcharles, Sr. of Bridgton; her sister, Glenna Todd of Cape Coral, Fla.; her stepdaughter Gracie Onofrio of Norway; four grandsons and four granddaughters; her great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to whoever is running against President Obama in 2012 or to the Androscoggin Healthcare & Hospice, P.O. Box 819, Lewiston, ME 04243-0819. Arrangements are by Hall Funeral Home, Casco.
