NAPLES — Carol W. Brown, 75, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., died peacefully at her daughter’s home in Naples on Friday, March 11, 2016.

She was born in Greenfield, Mass. on Dec. 24, 1940, the daughter of Madeline Wood Walker and Roland R. Walker.

Graduating from Albany State University, she married and raised three children in Guilderland, N.Y. and West Springfield, Mass. being very involved with their school and sports lives; before pursuing a career in social work for the elderly in Northampton and Westfield, Mass.

Upon retirement, she enjoyed playing tennis, biking, hiking and all things “nature.” She was an avid gardener, always surrounded by her flowers. She enjoyed traveling the country extensively, and pursuing various hobbies.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, William D. Brown; three children, Deborah L. Haight of Naples, William D. Brown Jr. of Manlius, N.Y. and Diana L. Baranowski of Florence, Mass.; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Marion of Williamstown, Mass. and Marcia Meerwarth of Eagle Bridge, N.Y.; a brother, Roland Walker Jr. of White Creek N.Y.

She is predeceased by a sister, Marilyn Demers of Framingham, Mass.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016, from 2 to 4 p.m. with services to follow at Hall Funeral Home, 165 Quaker Ridge Road, Casco.
