Carol Honaberger

Carol A. (Beck) Honaberger and her husband, Dale A. Honaberger, both of Bridgton, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, in an automobile accident in Casco.
Carol was born in Pennsylvania on June 29, 1943, and lived there until she moved with her family to southern California in 1956.
Dale was born in Pennsylvania on Aug. 21, 1932, and lived there until he moved to southern California after he completed his Army service.
Carol and Dale married in December 1972 in California. They lived in southern California and owned and operated a precision machine parts company until they retired. At that time, they moved to Bridgton. In Bridgton, they owned and operated the Lamp and Shade Shop on Main Street.
Dale was active in the Bridgton Community Band, the Westbrook Community Band, and numerous offshoot music groups from these bands.
Carol was active with her therapy-trained golden retriever dogs in the Children Read to Dogs Program at the Bridgton Library.
Carol is survived by a brother, Ed Beck of Fairview, Texas; a nephew, three nieces, five great-nieces, and two great-nephews.

Dale is survived by two sisters, Jane Hyde of Chama, New Mexico and Zelda Shellenberger of Coeur de Alene, Idaho; a niece; and two great-nephews.
A  memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 33 South High Street in Bridgton, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Holly Fund, Norway Veterinary Hospital, P.O. Box 273, Norway, ME 04268, or the Bridgton Public Library, 1 Church St., Bridgton.
