Carlene A. Field, 73

DOVER, N.H. — Carlene A. Field, 73, passed peacefully, with her family by her side, at Hyder Home Hospice House on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012 after fighting breast cancer.

Carlene was born Dec. 6, 1938 in New Gloucester. She married to David G. Field on March 28, 1957 in Farmington, graduated high school in Bridgton, class of 1957, and attended STCC in Springfield, Mass.

She was a 4-H leader while living in Rollingsford, N.H. Her love for children was expressed through her gift of teaching, being a special needs and nursery school teacher in Southwick, Mass.

She loved to square dance, and enjoyed the movie experience when her team was selected to take part in the square dancing scene in the movie, The Reincarnation of Peter Proud. She was an avid quilter, pouring love into the quilts she made for her family, while also spending time as a quilting teacher, teaching others to enjoy this craft. She also enjoyed camping and traveling through all 48 continental U.S. states with her husband and children.

Carlene is survived by her husband David G. Field of 55 years; her half-brother, Kent Whitney; a son, David P. Field; a daughter, Sheila Zahaykevitz; and her five grandchildren.

An open house for family and friends will be held to celebrate her life.
