PORTLAND — Carl Adams, 73, of Portland, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at the Seaside Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Cornish on June 10, 1939, he was the son of Helen Carlotta Adams and lived in Portland for most of his life. Working as a skilled laborer for most of his career, Carl worked throughout the greater Portland area for several well-known businesses including Lucas Tree Company, until his retirement due to illness.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, all whom will never forget his memory and are glad he is finally at rest.

He is survived by his two sons, David and Craig of Casco; a daughter, Rachel of Portland; a brother, George of Buxton, two sisters, Mary of Mesa, Ariz., and Betsy of Kempton, Pa.; two cousins; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Friends and family are invited to attend a period of visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at the A.T. Hutchins LLC Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland. A memorial service will immediately follow in the funeral home at 11 a.m.
