SOUTH CASCO  — C. Madeline Watkins Dingley, 92, passed away at Ledgewood Manor in Windham on Sept. 30, 2012. She was born in South Casco on Aug. 22, 1920, the daughter of Albert Watkins and Amy Edes Watkins.

Madeline graduated from Casco High School in 1937 and the Adams School of Beauty Culture in 1939. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, cooking, snowmobiling and crafts.

Madeline worked with her husband Fred in various businesses: Dingley's Bottled Gas, Dingley's Plumbing & Electric, Water's Edge Cottages, and Water's Edge Motel and Restaurant, which they built in 1963 and operated until the 1970s. In 1998 her huband of 58 yrs. predeceased her.

Surviving are her daughter Sharon Plummer and her husband Cole; her granddaughter Gretchen Plummer; her grandson Greg; two great-grandsons, Ryan and Shaun Loreng, all of South Casco.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at Murch Cemetery in South Casco. There will be no reception following the service.
