Butch Walter, 69

WINDHAM — Butch Walter, 69, unexpectedly passed away at home on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013.

He was born in Portland on Jan. 1, 1944 and attended Portland schools.

He was employed by Weyerhaeuser for 30 years and served in the Army National Guard and volunteered on the Windham Fire and Rescue for 22 plus years. He enjoyed his grandsons; they were his world.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Elaine Walter; his daughters, Stacy Harriman of Lisbon, Dawn Verrill of Gorham and Sue Miller of Casco; a stepson, Mike Cantin of Gray; a stepdaughter, Debbie Oelschlager of Dover, N.H.; and seven grandsons.

Butch’s wishes were to be cremated and no services held.
