LEWISTON — Bryant B. Tribou Jr., 80, of Turner, died Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Central Maine Medical Center of double pneumonia.

He was born April 11, 1933, in Portland, the son of the late Bryant Bertron Tribou Sr. and the late Irene (Berry) Tribou. He attended local schools and entered the U.S. Air Force and served his country in Alaska.

After an honorable discharge in 1958 from the Air National Guard with the 144th Transport Sq. with the rank of technical sergeant, he homesteaded in Alaska and made his home there for many years.

He earned his pilot’s license and flew many places there and had many interesting and enjoyable stories of hunting and fishing in Alaska. Upon returning to Maine, he built his home in Turner and worked for many years at the Libbey Mill in Lewiston.

In the past, he was a Brigade leader at the East Auburn Baptist Church and a Boy Scout leader in Turner, teaching many outdoor skills. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of the American Legion Post 111 in Turner.

He is survived by his two sisters, Natalie Marshall of Hartford and Elaine Szott of Harrison; three nephews, three nieces, many grandnephews and grandnieces.

Funeral services with full military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 1, at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 163 Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
