HARRISON — Bruce L. Hatch, 58, of Harrison passed away June 15, 2013, after a long illness.

Bruce was born in Beverly, Mass. to Lorraine and Leonard Hatch on June 27, 1954. He grew up in Massachusetts and spent part of his life in South Carolina and surrounding states before moving to Maine. Bruce married Pauline Hatch on Oct. 9, 1999.

Bruce was a man of many interests and talents. He loved working on vehicles and was known for his ability to rebuild transmissions. He owned and operated Bruce’s Automatic Transmissions in Oxford and Harrison for a number of years.

Bruce shared his love of deep sea fishing with his stepchildren and grandchildren, inviting them to get up very early in the morning to catch a ride on a charter boat for a day of adventure.

Cooking was another passion of Bruce’s. He was happiest when he had a houseful of people that he was sharing his talent with.  No one turned down an invitation to eat when he was making his spaghetti sauce, prime rib or Zuppa di Pesce!

Bruce also enjoyed camping, especially when his grandchildren were able to go with him and Pauline. They spent many vacations at Jonesport, Rockwood, Moosehead Lake and camping at Fryeburg Fair.

Bruce is survived by his wife Pauline; her four children; their six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Fred of Harrison, Brian (Bruce’s twin) of Waterford and Robert of Massachusetts; a sister, Shirley Clark of Harrison; and an Aunt Rosemary of Florida. Bruce will be missed by his two special collies Buddy and Charley.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Stephen.

Arrangements are made by Dolby Funeral Home in Windham.

At Bruce’s request, no services will be held.
