Brenda Rand

PORTLAND — Brenda Grace Rand, 65, of Oxford, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016 at Maine Medical Center.

She was born in North Conway, N.H. on Oct. 8, 1951, a daughter of Alton and Grace Marie (Dixon) Potwin.
 She attended Fryeburg schools and Fryeburg Academy, and graduated from Oxford Hills High School in 1970.

Brenda worked for many years at Cornwall Wood Products and also at National Wood Products for a time. She had lived in Oxford for 35 years coming there from West Paris, and was a member of the Hebron Community Baptist Church.

She is predeceased by her husband, Paul M. Rand, who died on Oct. 24, 1996; a son, Charlie Connell; and her parents.

Brenda leaves behind four daughters, Angela Connell of South Paris, Belinda Geoffroy of Lewiston, Alanna Rand of Oxford and Alenna James of Lewiston; two sons, Bill Connell of Dover, N.H. and Chet Connell, II of West Paris; a brother, Alan Potwin of Fryeburg; a sister, Elaine Potwin of Fryeburg; two stepdaughters, Patricia Verrill of West Paris and Marie Rand of Norway; a stepson, John Rand of Nevada; and seven grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at Monday, Oct. 24, 2016 at the Hebron Community Baptist Church in Hebron. Private burial will be at Stuarts Corner Cemetery, Harrison.
