Boosters’ Club Player of the Week: Adam Butler

Adam Butler

Adam Butler has been a team leader in hitting and runs batted in for the Lake Region varsity baseball team.

But, he brings a lot more to the Laker diamond.

“He’s straight forward and says what is on his mind. With that, he has the respect of the team,” Laker head coach Randy Heath said. “I’ve coached Adam since he started in Casco. It’s nice to see kids grow to be great young men.”

In recognition of his strong work ethic, determination, commitment and good sportsmanship, Adam is this week’s Boosters and Hancock Lumber “Player of the Week.” Each week, a Lake Region athlete is recognized for his/her dedication (does more than what is asked), work ethic, coachability and academic good standing. Recipients receive a specially-designed t-shirt, sponsored by Hancock Lumber.

Best piece of advice you have received? Some things don’t go the way you want, but life may not be fair, but it is unfair to everyone.

Who is your biggest fan? My dad. He used to coach me all the way through Little League and tried to come to every game no matter where he had to drive from.

I know I have had a good sports day when…you look back and you can’t see anything you would have done differently.

What is your favorite sport? Baseball, because I love playing outfield and getting up to bat and trying to improve my hitting.

If I could change one thing about myself as an athlete, I would change…My temper due to my competitiveness. Sometimes, I get a little carried away.

What qualities make for a good teammate? Even if I strike out or lose an event, I don’t get down. I try to stay positive and I look forward and see what I can do differently.

What do you believe you bring to your team? A good attitude. I’m laid back, but I can be serious and I always push myself and others into doing more than they think they can.
