Bonnie C. Axtman, 74

DENMARK — Bonnie C. Axtman, 74, died on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

She was born in Portland, on Oct. 13, 1942, the daughter of Clifton and Margorie (Jordan) Rogers.

Bonnie grew up in Gorham, and then moved to Brownfield as a teenager. She graduated from Cornish High School in 1960.

That same year, she married her first husband, Dominic “Nicky” Watson. They had her first and only son, Darrell B. Watson.

Her first job was working at the packing shed at the nearby, local orchard. After working there for many years, she switched her career and became a nurse for Maine Medical Center. She worked there for over 20 years. During those years, she married her second husband, Daniel Axtman; the two lived happily in Sebago until he passed away in 2006.

Her interests included dancing on Saturday nights (in her younger years), sewing, doing local craft fairs, snowmobiling for the local club she belonged to, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two grandsons; her first husband, Dominic “Nicky” Watson; and her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, and her second husband, Bonnie was predeceased by her son, Darrell Burns Watson; and brothers, Delbert and Donald Rogers.
