Beverly Theriault

PORTLAND — Beverly E. Theriault, 88, of Portland died on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Sedgewood Common in Falmouth after a long illness.

She was born in Porter on April 16, 1928, the daughter of Joseph and Grace (Cole) Locklin. She attended local schools and graduated from Porter High School.

Beverly worked as a seamstress for many years for Health-Tex, makers of Osh-Kosh children’s clothing, in Portland. After retiring from there, she worked for a few years at both the Salvation Army and Goodwill in Portland. She later volunteered for the Windham Primary Schools reading to the children.

Beverly had always enjoyed sewing and knitting, making many of her children’s clothes when they were young. She also enjoyed spending time at the family camp on Forest Lake in Gray. Christmas was her favorite time of year and she loved giving to her family during the holidays. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Guy Theriault Sr.; her son, Edward Theriault; a sister, Leona Pierce; and a brother, Lionel Locklin.

Surviving are her son, Guy Theriault Jr. of Waterford; a sister, Joyce Perry of Porter; four grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

An hour of visitation will be on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 2 to 3 p.m. immediately followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. all at Watson, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple Street, Cornish.
