HARRISON — Beulah Chandler Holden, 85, of Harrison, passed away Monday, May 25, 2015, at her home.

Beulah was born in Sweden, on Jan. 12, 1930, the daughter of Leslie and Addie Littlefield Chandler and was the youngest of nine children. She was educated in Sweden and Lovell schools.

She had worked for several local businesses over the years, and also volunteered for many organizations and clerked for many town meetings.

She was a member of the Ronald St. John VFW Post #698 Auxiliary, where she had just received her 45-year pin, the Woodland Rebekah Lodge #42, the local Red Hat group, and the United Parish Congregational Church of Harrison and North Bridgton. She also was a member of the Knit and Sew group in Harrison.

She married Verdell Gilman Holden Sr. on Sept. 8, 1949.

Beulah was predeceased by her husband, her parents, and all nine of her siblings.

Surviving are her son, Verdell Gilman Holden Jr. and his wife Debra of North Bridgton; her two daughters, Elizabeth (Beth) Cerone-Shain and her husband Richard Cerone of Bridgton, and Diane Chandler Morrill and her husband J. David Morrill of Parsonsfield; grandchildren, Angella Blanchard, Paul Sanborn, Chris Sanborn, Matthew Holden, Annie Holden, and Les Shain; great-grandchildren, Noah Mason, Hannah Mason and Mason Shain.

The family would like to thank her special caregivers, Trish, Libra, Priscilla and Beverly.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wed., June 3, 2015, at the North Bridgton Cemetery, Kimball Road in No. Bridgton. If desired, donations in Beulah’s memory may be made to the Ronald St. John VFW Post #698, Harrison, ME 04040.
