Beth Murphy

Beth Murphy

Unfortunately I checked out much too early due to metastatic breast cancer. The family and friends that I have kept in touch with have been instrumental in my happiness. The almost 12 years I’ve been married to Rogier have brought me to a level of joy that I never thought was possible and our move to Maine was one of the best decisions that we made. Over the years I have had a wonderful group of supportive friends who made all the difference throughout my life.

Relatives: besides my husband Rogier Henny, I was the stepmeister to two awesome, wretched stepchildren: Alexander and Laura Henny of Scarborough. I’m also leaving my sister Sarah Murphy and her husband Jim Vlachos of Wellesley, Mass., and brother-in-law William Bolling of Sarasota, Fla. My sister Jane M. Bolling died in 2012. My nieces and nephews include: Ann Bolling and Brian Bolling of Boston, Mass., Charlotte Murphy of Wellesley, Mass., Michelle Murphy of Lanesborough, Mass., and William Murphy of Wellesley, Mass., as well as Penny and Chris Cook of Beddgelert, Wales, and Bruce Brooks Pfeiffer of Scottsdale, Ariz.

History: Sailed around the world on a Semester at Sea with the University of Pittsburgh, graduated from the University of Vermont and received an MBA from Babson College. Worked for 20 years at the family company in Wellesley, Mass., becoming treasurer and vice-president. I hiked miles in the White Mountains of N.H., became a member of the AMC 4,000 Footer Club, hiked the Shilthorn in Muerren, Switzerland, and made gallons of maple syrup at our camp in Maine. NAUI scuba diver for over 25 years, diving throughout the Caribbean, Australia, Hawaii, and the Northeast United States. Sea kayaker in Tierra del Fuego, as well as Alaska, snowshoer in Maine and New Hampshire and traveler throughout 35 countries.

A private family cremation burial will take place.
