NAPLES – Beryle J. Goodwin, 80, died on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice. She was born in Portland on Nov. 28, 1934, the daughter of Clifford Jr. and Flora (Powers) Plummer.

Beryle grew up in the Stroudwater area, and was a 1952 graduate of Deering High School. After graduation, Beryle entered the work force, waitressing at the Flight Deck on the causeway in Naples, and then later working for a few years at Sebago Moc, both in Bridgton and Westbrook. She then went on to become a certified nursing assistant, and worked at the Springbrook Center in Westbrook. Beryle’s passion in life was helping others. While she was not a friend of Bill W., she guided many others to his company and teachings. Beryle loved knitting, crocheting, and reading, and was the Vice President of the Edes Falls Community Sewing Circle. She also enjoyed visiting different churches and places of spirituality. On Saturdays, she would often stop at yard sales and thrift shops, and have lunch with her daughter.

Beryle is survived by her daughter Valerie A. Bennett of Casco; sons, Alan D. Goodwin and his significant other Lyn Richardson of Naples, and Brian L. Goodwin of Dover-Foxcroft; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sister Barbara Darneille of Fla. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Bernard L. Plummer; and sisters, Roberta L. Junco and Virginia Nicholas.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, April 10, 2015, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Rd., Windham. Burial will follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress St., Portland. Notes of condolence may be expressed to the family at www.dolbyfuneralchapels.com
