Barbara Goodman

Barbara L. Goodman, 90, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015 at the Regency Assisted Living facility in Edgewater, Fla., where she was residing.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas L. Goodman and son, Thomas A.

She was born on Nov. 22, 1923 to Jack and Ruth Dalton in Haddonfield, N.J.

Barbara graduated with a Medical Technologist degree from Moravian College in 1946, meeting her future husband while working at Mary Hitchcock Hospital in Hanover, N.H. Their marriage lasted 62 years!

She often remarked on her life of adventure traveling across the country and to foreign lands with her husband, Thomas L. Goodman, and had a fond place in her heart for the women of Nairobi, Kenya and other dignitaries, who she met along the way.

Her profound love of Labrador retrievers began with two of her favorites, which she had in Nairobi and who later became very happy Maine labs at the Goodman home in Sweden.

Always known for her cheerful disposition, she was active in the Congregational Church in Bridgton, particularly the Friendship Class, and was constantly helping others in need.

She was an active golfer, as well as cross-country skier and would often be seen on the trails in Sweden.

Many will also remember her fondly at the concession stand of the Magic Lantern, where she proudly helped her son launch the then new theater!

Funeral services will be private, however donations can be made to www.vitas.com who provided her remarkable hospice care.
