Barbara E. Guy

SCARBOROUGH — Barbara Elizabeth Guy, 83, of Scarborough, died on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at her residence.

She was born in Portland on Sept. 26, 1930, the daughter of Howard A. and Vera May Neal Crawford. Barbara attended South Portland schools and South Portland High School.

Barbara retired in the early 1990s from Fairchild with over 20 years of service to the company. She was a member of the South Portland VFW Auxiliary, where she served as past president.

Barbara enjoyed many outdoor activities. She liked gardening and planting flowers, bird watching and painting birdhouses. Barbara was a good cook, who canned jellies, jams and relish each season. She also hunted and fished as a younger woman.

She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Philip Guy on Feb. 26, 2006; a daughter, Virginia White on Feb. 3, 1993; three brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan D. Wood of Raymond; a son, Scott James White of Scarborough; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; and two nieces.

Visiting hours were held on Saturday followed by a 10 a.m. funeral at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Burial followed at Brooklawn Memorial Park in Portland. Online condolences may be expressed at: www.ctcrawford.com
