Barbara Bossie

VAN BUREN — Barbara B. Bossie, 79, died peacefully Monday, June 5, 2017 at a Bangor hospital following a short illness.

She was born Sept. 5, 1937 in Van Buren, a daughter of the late Thomas and Euphemie (Guerette) Lapointe.

Barbara worked in the cafeteria with Van Buren schools for many years. She was very active with many area activities in Van Buren, including American Legion Auxiliary, St. Bruno-St. Remi Choir, Parish Mercy Meal and Red Hat Ladies. Barbara enjoyed being around people, especially sitting back with a nice cup of coffee and conversation. She loved all her children, but had a deep love for her daughter, Sue, who was her constant, lifetime companion. She adored her grandchildren and looked forward to their common visits.

She is survived by three children, Susan Bossie of Van Buren, Tom Bossie of Casco, and Carrie Wall of Windham; a stepdaughter, Kathy Healey of Millinocket; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three sisters and three brothers; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Barbara is predeceased by two children, Gail Chabre and Dave Bossie.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2017, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren.

Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High Street, Van Buren.
