ARUNDEL — Arthur C. Liscomb, 88, of Arundel, died on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, at his home.

He was born on April 2, 1927, in Portland, the son of John and Irene (Anderson) Liscomb, and graduated from South Portland.

Arthur served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Military Police Battalion providing security for the Nuremberg Trials.

After the war, he went to work for the Maine Central Railroad, beginning as a messenger and retiring as yard clerk after 43 years of service.

He was a member of the American Legion, Post 0026, and the Masonic Hiram Lodge #180 in South Portland, the South Portland Volunteer Fire Department, and the 733rd Battalion Military Police Association.

He enjoyed woodworking, feeding and watching birds, traveling and cooking for family get-togethers.

After the death of his wife Norma Dow in 1991, he married Therese (Fecteau) Farnham on May 25, 1996.

Surviving are his wife, Therese Liscomb of Arundel; three daughters, Dorsey Redshaw of Old Orchard Beach, LuAnn Perakis of Scarborough and Patrice Jordan of Raymond; stepchildren, Pamela Lachance of Arundel, Darrell Farnham Jr. of Hyde Park, Mass., Melissa Hersey of Arundel and Lance Farnham of Arundel; one sister, Dorothy Levesque of Lady Lake, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and his precious pet, Wiggles.

Visiting hours will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
