Arleene M. Keresztessy (Eibel), 77

DENMARK — Arleene M. Keresztessy (Eibel), 77, beloved wife of William M. Keresztessy for 56 years, passed on August 18, 2015, after a six-month battle with cancer.

Born in New York City, N.Y., she moved to Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y., where she was raised by her grandmother. She then moved to Huntington, N.Y., where she graduated from Huntington High School in 1956. She met the love of her life in 1958, and they were wed six months later on May 31, 1959. They spent the first six months of their marriage at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland. Eventually they bought a home in Centereach, N.Y., where they raised their young family for 10 years. She and her family moved to Coventry, R.I., in 1972. She graduated from CCRI in 1978 as an LPN, a desire she had had since high school. She worked at Kent County Memorial Hospital for 20 years.

She and her husband moved to Denmark, in 1996. She worked at Clipper Nursing Home for 10 years and proceeded to do home care for another three years, retiring in Nov. 2014. She had many passions aside from being a loving wife and mother. These included canning, baking, quilting and sewing.

She is predeceased by her son William M. Keresztessy Jr. She also leaves in mourning Cynthia L. Brewer (Keresztessy) and her children, Sarah, Emily and Thomas; William R. Keresztessy and his daughter Ashley Moran; John F. Keresztessy and his girlfriend, Lorri Jennings; Frederick M. Keresztessy and his wife Tracy and their daughters, Brooke and Faith; and Frank J. Keresztessy and his son Dylan.

Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 21, at Wood Funeral Home, 9 Warren Street, Fryeburg, Maine. A funeral service will be held at Wood Funeral Home, Saturday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m. Please no flowers. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.woodfuneralhome.org
