LEESBURG, VIRGINIA — Anneliese Wilhelmine (Schaefer) Weymouth, 92, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018, in Leesburg, Va., with her daughter Susan present.

She was born in Munich, Germany, on Oct. 26, 1925. She met her husband, Corporal John F. Weymouth, of Bridgton, Maine, in Munich and came to the United States in 1948 as a War Bride.

She and her husband resided in the towns of Bridgton and Norway for several years. In 1950, they purchased a parcel of land in Stoneham, near the White Mountain National Forest, with plans to build on it at a later time.

In 1951, they moved to Conn., and shortly thereafter they bought their first house in Middletown, Conn., where they raised their family and lived for 39 years. They moved to Fayetteville, N.C., where she resided until Sept. 2017, when she moved to Herndon, Va., with her daughter Susan.

Anneliese liked spending time in her cottage in Stoneham, and summers at White Lake in N.C. She enjoyed cruises with her friends, trips to New York City to see Broadway shows, and trips to the Beach.

Anneliese retired in 1986 from United Technologies in Conn., where she worked for 21 years as an executive secretary.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years. She is survived by son Roy A. Weymouth; daughters Susan E. Weymouth and Jacqueline J. Weymouth-Moser; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, at 11 a.m., at the family plot in Forest Hill Cemetery on Kansas Road in Bridgton. A reception will follow at the Bridgton Alliance Church, 368 Harrison Road, Bridgton.
