RAYMOND — Anne-Marie Stuart, 42, died peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2015 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough following a long battle with multiple sclerosis.

She was born Aug. 19, 1973 in Portland, daughter of the late Richard T. Libby and Elizabeth M. (Bennett) Libby.

Anne-Marie graduated from Portland High School, Class of 1991. She married Jon Edward Russell of York on Sept. 18, 1993. Jon passed away on July 10, 1995 from leukemia. On May 30, 1997, she married William Orkney Stuart of Casco.

Mrs. Stuart worked for Bell Atlantic and later for the Portland Press Herald in circulation. She lived in Casco until 2011 when she moved to Raymond. She loved people and animals, music and books. Her radiant smile and ability to meet people easily earned her the nickname, the “Mayor of Raymond,” among her friends. Her ability to share in the joys and sorrows of others always outweighed her personal situation.

She is survived by her husband, Will; her mother, Betty; her brother, Mark Libby; a niece and nephew of Casco; and a very loving extended family.

The family plans to have a celebration of her life after Memorial Day. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.coastalcremationservices.com
