Anna W. Curtis

FALMOUTH — Anna W. Curtis, 92, of Falmouth, died on March 3, 2012.

She was born in Dublin, Ireland, on June 25, 1919, the daughter of Patrick and Ellen (Nugent) Walsh, and was educated at schools in Ireland and England. Prior to the arrival in this country, she was a Civil Servant employed by the Ministry of Food in London and later at Oxford, England. For many years, she held a position at Maine Savings Bank in Portland, retiring in 1984.

Ms. Curtis was a former member of the Junior League of Portland and a former member of the Cumberland Garden Club. She will be missed dearly. She was a very kind person to everyone she knew.

She was predeceased by her parents; former husband, Oakley C. Curtis; a son, Peter H. Curtis; a sister, Margaret Baker; a brother, Patrick Walsh; and a grandson.

She is survived by a daughter, Marcia A. Curtis of South Paris; four grandsons including Mathew A. Strout of Bridgton; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be announced in the spring. There will be no funeral or visitation hours. Arrangements under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Road, Skowhegan.
