LEMINGTON, VT. — AmandaLyn Surkont passed away on Dec. 25, 2012, at Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington, Vt., with her family by her side.

AmandaLyn fought a thirteen-year courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Bridgton, Maine on Jan. 29, 1955, the daughter of Emily Lingard of Bridgton. AmandaLyn was educated in Bridgton schools and graduated from college in Portland. AmandaLyn was a published poet/author as well as an artist. AmandaLyn worked at Prepco in Colebrook, N.H. as Quality Control Manager until the week before she passed away.

AmandaLyn leaves behind her loving husband Max Surkont of Lemington, Vt., her daughter Denisa Laflamme of Lewiston, her daughter Kristen Cross and son-in -law David Cross of Colebrook, N.H., stepson Peter Lemoi and daughter-in-law Joanna Lemoi of Warren, R.I.; her grandchildren, Eva Hall-Lanoue of La., James Hall Jr. of Lancaster, N.H., Steven Jones of Colebrook, N.H., Perisha Nichole Laflamme of Auburn, Sheyenne-Austyn Lemoi, Emily Claire, Matthew Daniel, and Kaitlyn Marie Souza, all from Warren, R.I. She also has many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. AmandaLyn also leaves behind a sister Betty Decoteau and her husband of South Paris, Maine, a brother Donny Allen of Naples Maine.

She also leaves behind her “Heart Sisters” Audrey Friedman of North Kingstown, R.I., and Peggy Conti of Charlestown, R.I.

Amandalyn is predeceased by her mother Emily Lingard and her daughter Perisha Anne Poland-Burgess.

Per AmandaLyn's request there will be no funeral service; the family will be holding a memorial celebration of life service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a cancer organization in her memory.
