WEST PARIS — Alvin F. Douglass, 75, of Brownfield, died on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at Ledgeview Living Center.
He was born in Portland on April 10, 1936, the youngest child of a large family born to Elmer Sr. and Ella Day Douglass. He attended schools in Brownfield and worked for the Town of Brownfield as a transfer station attendant, as well as working several odd jobs over the years.
He collected stamps and baseball cards and was an avid reader.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Lawrence, Frances, Elmer Jr., Geneva, Floyd and three infant brothers.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3, at 2 p.m., at Pine Grove Cemetery in Brownfield. Arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 45 Main Street, South Paris. Online condolences may be shared with his family at www.chandlerfunerals.com
