Allen J. Tait, 56

RAYMOND — Allen John Tait, 56, of Raymond died Sept. 15, 2012 after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Allen’s friends and family remember him as thoughtful, loving and kind. He made a difference to his family, friends, co-workers, and his community as well.

Allen was born in Kearney, N.J. on Nov. 3, 1955. He graduated from Exeter High School and served in the U.S. Army. In May 1997, he received a degree in computer science from the University of Southern Maine. Allen worked as a shipbuilder on the coast of Maine, a line worker for Coutts Brothers in Randolph, and for the last 15 years held the position of principal application developer at IDEXX Laboratories in Westbrook.

He served on the Raymond Planning Board.

Allen had a passion for the outdoors. He loved camping, skiing, motocross racing, fishing, swimming and refurbishing antique motorcycles. He enjoyed his antique cars.

Allen is predeceased by his father, Bradford Tait.

He is survived by his soul mate Deborah Mosher; daughters Heidi Tait and Amy Tait; four grandchildren; his mother, Carol Tait; his stepmother, Martha Tait; his sisters, Joanne O’Neil and Jennifer Morneault; stepbrother, David Frank; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
