SCARBOROUGH — Allan “Butch” E. Watts Jr., 54, of South Portland, died at his summer residence at Wassamki Springs in Scarborough on May 25, 2013.

Butch was born in Portland, the son of Allan E. and Judith (Moody) Watts Sr. He was educated in South Portland schools. He joined the United States Army following high school, serving for 24 years of Honorable Service, retiring from the Army National Guard.

Butch married Patti McInnis on April 4, 1997.

Butch was employed at Maine Medical Center for 18 years working as a mechanical engineer. He also worked in the past for Maietta Construction and Towing.

He loved NASCAR, New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed spending time camping with friends and family. He spent many fun summers at Wassamki Springs Campground with his friends and loving family. He was a 20-year member of the Portland Eagles #565, the Westbrook American Legion Post 0197 and the Columbia Social and Athletic Club.

He is survived by his wife Patricia M. (McInnis) Watts of 16 years; daughter, Alana Watts of South Portland; son, William Watts of South Portland; two brothers Michael Watts of Portland and Ronald Watts of Casco; sister, Theresa Sargent of Florida; uncles, aunts, several nieces, nephews and many loving friends.

Visiting hours were held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland with a funeral service to be held 10 a.m., Thursday, May 30, at the funeral home. Interment will take place at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta.
