Alice Hill

NORTH CONWAY, N.H. — Alice H. Hill, 89, formerly of Fryeburg, passed away on June 6, 2015, at Mineral Springs in North Conway, N.H.

She was born on June 22, 1925, in Gorham, N.H. A graduate of Kennett High School in Conway, N.H., Alice lived all of her married life in Fryeburg. She had resided at Mineral Springs since Nov. of 2013, when she suffered from multiple strokes.

She was predeceased by her husband, Earl, who passed away in 1991; a brother, Charles, and two sisters, Helen and Irma.

She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Bethoney of Fryeburg, and Mary Russell and husband Toby of East Kingston, N.H; granddaughter Kayla Bethoney of Fryeburg; two grandsons, Eric Russell and his wife, Suzanne of Boca Raton, Fla., and Joshua Russell and his wife Ginny of Fremont, N.H; and two great-granddaughters, Heidi and Samantha Russell of Boca Raton, Fla. She also leaves a sister Eleanor Grames of Kennebunk, Maine.

For many years she traveled to Florida to spend the winter months in Mt. Dora, where she formed numerous friendships .

Alice enjoyed playing cards with her many friends and played bridge every week at the American Legion Hall in Fryeburg.

A service will be held at the First Congregational Church, Fryeburg, on Saturday, June 20, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the First Congregational Church, Fryeburg, or to the Fryeburg Historical Society.
