Albert E. Roy

CORNISH — Albert E. Roy, 58, of Cornish and formerly of Westbrook, died on June 4, 2011, after a long illness.

He was born on Oct. 8, 1952, the son of Albert L. and Rita Bobony Roy. He attended Westbrook schools and graduated in 1971. He went on to Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute and studied Waste Water Treatment. He had various jobs through the years, and retired from Sappi Paper in Westbrook in the mid 1990s due to his illness.

Albert’s first love was music. He learned to play many instruments at an early age. He was a member of many bands over the years playing bass guitar. He was always happy to be on stage playing.

Albert will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Rock and Roll Heaven just got another band member.

He leaves behind a daughter, Christina Roy of Cornish; a brother, Robert of Casco; and a sister, Therese Lewis of Limington.

There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, July 9, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Redneck Lounge on Route 11 in Naples. Arrangements by Watson, Neal & York Funeral Home, Cornish.
