Ada E. Duchesne

PORTLAND — Ada E. Duchesne, 90, formerly of Westbrook, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2011, at the St. Joseph Manor.

She was born in South Windham, the daughter of Walter and Esther Kelley McClure. She was raised and educated and lived most of her life in Westbrook.

Ada had been employed by the Dana Warp Mill for 10 years, and for the S.D. Warren Co. for 31 years. Her passion was her family, especially her children and grandchildren, who she filled with junk food, before sending them home. She was an avid Red Sox fan. Ada was a member of the American Legion Post 197.

She was predeceased by her husband Eugene, in 1973; and her son John, in 1983. She is survived by her daughter Ginger Williams of Sebago; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Connie Fogg of Sebago Lake, and Betty Vokey of Portland; and brothers, Walter McClure, and Robert McClure, of New York.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook. Interment will take place later in the summer.

Ada’s family would like to offer special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph Manor.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ada’s memory may be made to Westbrook Little League or Sebago Rescue.
