The following are The Bridgton News' forms and policies for reader submissions. Click to download each PDF. If you don't have an application to read PDFs, click here to download Adobe Reader for free. In regards to submitted letters and columns, please follow:

  • Letters will be limited to 300 words (most writing programs indicate word count). Letters must include the writer’s name, place of residence, and telephone number for verification purposes.
  • Keeping with currently policy, letters will be published based on new writers gaining first preference, followed by letters that address a timely matter, and if space permits, by frequently published writers.

The News retains the right to edit all submissions for accuracy, clarity and civility. If a letter is rejected, The News will inform the writer. Letters not accepted include personal complaints or attacks (including businesses or services), private legal matters, disgruntled employees of private businesses complaining about firings or other problems, religious discussions, name-calling and other forms of abrasive and/or abusive language or plagiarized materials.

  • Opinion columns, either by BN columnists or guest writers, will be limited to 700 words.
