Bridgton Police, in conjunction with federal and state drug enforcement agents, executed a search warrant at a residence on North Road last week that netted approximately 300 marijuana plants along with growing apparatus and firearms.

The name of the person whose property was searched Oct. 20 was not released.

Bridgton Chief of Police Kevin Schofield said Wednesday of the coordinated effort by his department, the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, “The search warrant was the culmination of a collaborative investigation of several months by three agencies. The result of the search warrant revealed a highly-sophisticated growing operation. Seized during the warrant (execution) were approximately 300 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, several pounds of processed marijuana, growing apparatus, a vehicle and firearms.”

Chief Schofield said the United States Attorney’s Office “is reviewing the matter for prosecution,” at this point in time.
