Ronald W. Vining

SOUTH PARIS — Ronald W. Vining, 76, died of complications of cancer on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

He was born Oct. 31, 1934, the son of Marjorie and Edward Vining. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 14 years. He worked many jobs, but most memorable was as a mechanic at Ripley & Fletcher and a corrections officer at Oxford County Jail.

Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, which also includes many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his companion of 45 years, Glenico Reilly of South Paris; sons, Ronald Vining II of Lewiston, Rick Vining of Bridgton and Bob Vining of Lewiston; daughters, Rose Mary Hodgkin of Gorham, Tammy Gauthier of Poland, Tina Vernott of Buckfield and Jane White of England; stepchildren, Craig Reilly of South Paris, Rick Reilly of Albany, Laurie Newell of Greenwood, Karen Farrington of North Norway and Diane Presby of Norway; half brothers, Jeff Therriault of Livermore and Lee Therriault of Minot; and half sisters, Laurel Addison, Jean Marsden and Mary Perry.

He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Kenneth Vining and Roger Therriault; son, Jamie Vining; and a sister, Madeline Hendericks.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. at Megquier Hill Cemetery in Poland.
